CODEORGAN

Funny Site of the Day -- We might be splitting hairs, not sure if CODEORGAN is funny, but it certainly is fun. Type in the URL of any Website and listen to the source code of the "body" content -- that's all of the technical gibberish written behind the scenes -- magically transformed into music. Each page is different.

Here's FunnySiteOfTheDay.com. Listen and toe tap!

'The Onion' - America's Finest News Source

Funny Site of the Day -- "America's Finest News Source," as it is branded, is exactly that, if you prefer your information to be expertly fake. And who doesn't?

The most imitated humor on the Internet is currently honored with a Webby Award nomination in the humor category. "The Onion's" satirical style traffics in a journalism based on truth and fantasy, while steeped in a bias slanted always to laughter. The content can be mean-spirited, vulgar, politically incorrect, and unflinching in mining its themes, but, then again, some stories are simply silly -- a joyful news.

Our Dumb WorldHomeland Insecurity: The Onion Complete News Archives, Volume 17 (Onion Ad Nauseam)
Newspaper-style articles are the prime focus, although clever videos, funny pictures, editorials, and cartoons are to be found in the mix with an emphasis on Sports, Politics, World, Local, Economy, Sci/Tech, Radio, and Entertainment. Several I've eyed to investigate: "Opening Staff Rails Against Incompetence Of Closing Staff," "Most Men Are Too Intimidated To Date A Successful, Educated Gorgon," and "New Six Flags Ride Based On Relationship With Deborah."

For true pop culture news, interviews, and opinions, don't miss "The Onion's" The A.V. Club sister pages, accessible from the main site.

The Sound Effect Generator

Funny Site of the Day -- One of the truisms I've learned during my centuries crawling the Internet is there is a huge public appetite for sound bites and sound effects on demand. Jumping into action, The Surrealist has created The Sound Effect Generator, providing an endless stream of cacaphony.

That means noises. I heard it somewhere.

The twist is each and every sound is in text form only.

Be assured by the proprietor's guarantee: "Less Funny the More You Reload."

Refresh The Sound Effect Generator as many times as you desire to hear see new selections.
