Funny Site of the Day -- My first reaction to TV's "Red Eye," having clicked into it late, late, early, early one morning was, "What the--? How in the world did this show get on the air?"

Soon, I was hooked and finding reasons to stay out of bed until three o'clock rolled around for the nightly panel of celebrities and pundits, party chatting on current events and pop culture. All involved are commissioned with the solitary task of making each other laugh. Voices from across the political spectrum join host Greg Gutfeld for outrageous stories, audacious insults, sexual innuendo goodness, and improbably precious animal footage.

Surprising cable outlet, the Fox News Channel, presents the program. A multitude of video highlights clips are posted and updated regularly at the official online home, or you may skip over to Hulu to view complete recent episodes.

If you can't lurk in the dark until near dawn to catch the series over the air, set your DVR to record the infectious festivities. They hold up well to lunch, part of my daily nutrition.

Fake AP Stylebook

Funny Site of the Day -- Way back, when I was in Journalism school, during those antiquated days where we were taught to be adamantly objective in our reporting-- Oh! How dear and quaint we were in ye olde-fashioned times!

Anyway, we were also taught style. Proper journalism style includes chain-smoking cigarettes, swigging gin, and following the rules of grammar as depicted in either the UPI or AP Stylebooks. I've consulted both over the years, but they cost money and gin ain't cheap.

Thanks to the Fake AP Stylebook, hosted by Twitter, a steady flow of the dictates, which do change in contemporary circumstances, are presented for free. Ta ta, Associated Press.

Readers do not have to be active Twitter followers to access the instructional material, but I find it helpful to have those valuable tweets sent directly to me. My writing has improved exponentially with the Fake AP's tips and guidance, such as:

• The word "asshat" is vulgar and should be avoided. Use "butt bonnet."
  
  
• Gary Coleman doing something crazy is not news. That's just a Tuesday.
  
  
• "Weather Bureau" is no longer in use. Instead, use "National Weather Service" or "Those Freakin' Liars."
  
  
• Be sure not to confuse "aural" and "oral." The former is very uncomfortable.
  
  
• You know what? F**k it, just add "'s" to everything.

Funny Site of the Day -- This choice compilation package of on-the-air tongue mishaps and/or bad avenues of journalists' conversation made me laugh several times. From an assortment of local broadcasts, ABC-TV, and cable's Fox News, the notorious Jennifer Lopez flub by Shepard Smith is included in the mix. I recall hearing that one live and nearly dropped my sandwich. Adult content.
